Public Mapping for California Cities

Draw your own city council districts and submit them for community review. Hosted by Redistricting Partners on the open-source Districtr platform.

Available Cities

Click a city below to draw districts, explore demographics, and save your map to the public gallery. Every map you submit is visible to other community members and to the city's redistricting team.

How this works

Each city in the list above has a publicly-visible mapping page. On a city's page, you choose how many districts to draw, then click and drag to assign census blocks to each district. The bar chart on the right shows population balance live as you draw — a good map keeps every district's population within a few percent of the others. When you're happy, click Save to share your map publicly. You can also export your map as a CSV (block → district assignment) from the menu.

Want a new city added? Email paul@politicaldata.com. We need a recent census-block GeoJSON for the city; setup takes about 30 minutes from there.
